Classification of sources of energy

classification of energy sources are below

(1)Primary energy sources and secondary energy sources:-
Those sources are available from directly from nature are called primary sources not any process is required for those type of sources for energy production . ex : coal, solar energy
Secondary sources are those sources which required process to develop energy. and this type of sources are available from  primary sources. ex: steam power plant

(2) Renewable and non renewable sources:-
In any primary energy is obtained from a constantly available sources of energy, the energy is known as renewable energy. for example, solar energy, wind energies
A non renewable sources of energy is one where the primary energy comes from a finite stock of resources. for example coal, or crude oil comes from a finite stock

(3) Commercial and non- commercial sources:-
Those energy available in market at certain price are called commercial energy. which develop by producer for trading purpose. and those energy is not available in market is called non commercial energy is used for only own use only. examples are cow dung, fire wood

(4) Low grade energy and high grade energy:-
Energy which can be easily and completely converted into other forms of energy , than it is called high grade energy . for example, electrical energy is called a high grade energy. because it is very easy to convert almost all of it into other.
When it is not possible to convert energy source easily and completely into another form of energy is called a low grade energy . for example coal is low grade energy since only 30% can be converted into electricity with requirement of huge setups.
